Overview

Madame De Dalat, once known as the "First Palace of the South," is one of Dalat's four famous architectural landmarks, along with Palace I, Queen Nam Phuong's Palace, and the Provincial Governor's Palace.

Following a process of restoration and refurbishment, the mansion has been reborn with a fresh look. Madame De Dalat is now a space for architecture, culture, and entertainment, divided into three zones: the Tran Le Xuan Mansion, the Woodblocks of Nguyen Dynasty and the immersive theatrical stage Madame Show.

Beyond preserving its unique historical, cultural, and architectural heritage, Madame De Dalat captivates with picturesque check-in spots and enchanting tales of century-old romances… A novel, distinctive destination, inviting guests to connect with Dalat in a truly original, different way.

Tran Le Xuan Mansion

The defining characteristic and spirit of Madame De Dalat – a blend of Eastern and Western architecture nestled in Dalat. Built in 1958, this mansion complex stands out not only for its architectural legacy but also for its ties to the powerful, once-controversial figure of Madame Tran Le Xuan.

Through the twists of history and the passage of time, a part of the mansion has been reawakened today. Many captivating tales of Dalat’s century-long legacy will come to life in the space of this mansion on Lam Son Hill, now known as Madame de Dalat, stretching from the Memory Garden, along the Ao Dai Path to the Lam Vien Museum and Madame Nhu’s Garden…

With its exceptional value in content and craftsmanship, the Woodblocks of Nguyen Dynasty were recognized by UNESCO as Vietnam's first World Documentary Heritage on July 31, 2009.

The Woodblocks of Nguyen Dynasty collection is now stored at Madame De Dalat, containing 34,619 blocks covering diverse themes, including history, geography, culture and education, as well as ideology, religion, philosophy, politics, and military affairs.

Considered a symbol of a dynasty, tens of thousands of woodblocks quietly whisper tales of the past, preserving and passing down century-old heritage values… Here, visitors can experience the process of creating a woodblock, vividly re-enacted in a multi-dimensional display using sand painting and a 3D Hologram Box.

Set on a unique stage over the mystical hot water lake of the vintage Bach Ngoc villa, Madame Show is a space dedicated to honoring and recalling Dalat's century-old legacy.

Nhung Duong Chim Bay (The Paths of Flying Birds), a one-of-a-kind live theatrical show, the first and only in Dalat, and possibly in Vietnam, serves as Madame Show’s tribute to guests and to all who have come to love this place.

The performance unfolds like a film rewinding, leading visitors on a journey back to explore and reawaken the charm of the Lam Vien Plateau, with over 130 years of history, legendary tales, and eerie love stories that continue to enchant visitors today and surely for years to come.
